Objective: Celebrate people or a topic different than my lived experiences

I decided to choose these four women because they have broken barriers in the four main industries in the United States: music, politics, entertainment, and sports. I have grown up hearing these names and recognizing their accomplishments, so I wanted to celebrate them on the most timeless platform.

These postage stamps pushed my illustration abilities and required me to analyze how to make a compelling image on an extreme format. I chose to use single line drawings because they provide captivating interest to an otherwise simple design. I chose a feminine serif font for the women’s names and paired it with a simple modern san serif to provide readability and accessibility.
